On June 26, 2010, the XEX family took part in the Greater Chicago Food Depository Hunger Walk at Soldier Field. We donated 7,500 postcards with 50% off services to attendees of the event. For each person who visited XEX using the card also donated $1, equivalent to seven meals, to the Chicago Food Depository.

The Hunger Walk was a huge success, making an enormous impact on the 650 member food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters who turn to the Food Depository every day to meet the rising demand in their communities.

XEX is pleased to donate hair from the salon to Matter of Trust (www.matteroftrust.org). They are using the donations to create booms, which are then used to help absorb oil all along the gulf.

On January 20, 2010, the XEX staff spent the day volunteering at the Greater Chicago Food Depository. We packaged 2300 one-pound bags of pasta to distribute to those in need. We had a great time and were happy to help such a great cause.

The change of seasons is a great time to change hair color. Too lighter shades are fun in the summer sunshine while deeper richer shades reflect the on set of fall. It is always fun for the client to treat themselves to a fresh, updated look when a new season rolls around.

Unique blends of chocolate shades with amber or cinnamon without too much red, taking these basic shades to the cool or warm side depending on the client skin tone, is popular now. We tailor the formula to suit whoever happens to be sitting in our chair, getting a different specialized and custom look for each client. Consideration is always made for your lifestyle. We just have to take a look at all the fashion magazines to see that many trendsetters are jumping on the brunette band wagon.

We are not about high maintenance, especially in today’s economy. We create colors that do not need a touch up every four weeks. We achieve this by often doing a deeper base with lighter ends which could be heavier or smaller sections and a combination of shades. Often a gloss is added to the remaining hair to accentuate shine. Our bottom line is to do what the customer needs to at a reasonable price.
